Giving a day of your time to help a worthy cause is always something to celebrate and be proud of. Disney recognized that helping others is a cornerstone to our American way of life, and to thank those of us who wish to help others, came up with their awesome Give a Day Get a Day program.
2010 will be the year of reaching out, and getting a lot of smiles back in return.
Since we moved to Florida, it was something we’ve looked forward to, and at our earliest, we signed up. For me, writing two scripts for the Oviedo TOPP program allowed me to use my writing skills to do something for a local community. This is my new state, and helping out was a no-brainer.
Assistant Laura will be doing a day at a local shelter - but had to reschedule - so her’s is still upcoming.
Yesterday, with the arrival of my brother & his family, I got to use my Give a Day Get a Day ticket, and spent my reward day with some of my favorite people! How cool to celebrate my giving back by experiencing Disney through the eyes of a 3, 5 and 7 year old! Totally topped it all off.
But what do you get with your Give a Day Get a Day day?

A free day at one of the Disney parks, either in California or Florida. When you arrive, stop at the Will Call window to exchange your ticket. You’ll get your ticket-card, check in your finger print, and get your button recognizing your efforts.
We spent our day at Magic Kingdom, but you can choose which of the Disney parks you’ll celebrate in.
Now hop over to your park of choice, and get to the Magic!
Don’t be surprised when Cast Members throughout the day, say thank you and recognize your efforts in their own way…
My first experience was a guy outside the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin clapping and thanking me. From there, it was thank-you’s, comments, and appreciation. I’ve never been thanked so much for doing something that made me feel good in the first place.
Add to it that I got to spend it with my nieces & nephew and it was really pretty cool.
Now add into it our last stop of the day, a photo with Pluto who clapped for me & gave us a great photo & you’ll see what all of this Disney magic is all about.
If you’re planning a trip to Disney this year, get out and Give a Day to help someone else.
Can’t make it to Disney, but still want to do something Magical?
Sign up, do your Disney Give a Day, and when complete, donate it! Yep, you can give that day away. I didn’t go down that path, so I don’t know that part of the process, but its at the time when you complete your form. So take a look, and see how your day can keep on giving.
The Disney Giva a Day Get a Day is an awesome and caring way to enjoy a visit to the Disney parks, or a really cool way to give a day away. Get your heart on your sleeve and do something important - and enjoy the Magical rewards!
*** If you’re planning to Give a Day to Get your Day, do so early. I’ve been told that Disney has only put aside a certain number of tickets. I have not confirmed this with Disney, but why put it off… just in case!
